Los Angeles and Malibu Residents Feel Strong Shaking
On Monday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 struck near Los Angeles, centered about five miles northeast of downtown. The quake was strongly felt throughout Los Angeles and Malibu, swaying buildings and knocking items off shelves. Despite the strong shaking, no significant damage or injuries have been reported.
Southern California Earthquake Activity
This earthquake is the latest in a series of seismic events to hit Southern California in recent months. A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck north of Los Angeles County last week, and a 2.9-magnitude earthquake hit the Los Angeles neighborhood of El Sereno earlier this morning.
