Scotland midfielders McTominay, Gilmour make Napoli debuts in win
Duo start for Italian side in friendly victory over Serie C side Juve Stabia
Scotland midfielders Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour both made their debuts for Napoli in the friendly victory over Serie C side Juve Stabia on Saturday.
McTominay, who joined Napoli from Manchester United on loan in January, assisted Luciano Spalletti's side's second goal in a 2-0 win.
Gilmour, also new to Napoli this month after a season on loan at Norwich City, was equally impressive, controlling the game from midfield.
Both players look set to play an important role for Napoli this season, with the club currently second in Serie A.
McTominay and Gilmour impress
McTominay and Gilmour both started for Napoli in the friendly win, but it was the former who stole the show.
According to the club's website, McTominay "made an immediate impact, playing a key role in Napoli's opening goal, just 17 minutes into his debut for the club."
The Scottish international "played a sublime pass to Zielinski to assist the opening goal," and he "continued to impress throughout the first half with his physicality and passing range."
Gilmour was also impressive, "controlling the game from midfield and dictating the tempo of the match."
The former Chelsea player "showed his skill and vision throughout the match, and he looks set to be a valuable addition to the Napoli squad."
Napoli continue to impress
Napoli's victory over Juve Stabia was their third in a row, and they have now won six of their last seven matches.
The Serie A leaders are now just five points behind leaders Inter Milan, but haven't lost a league game since September.
Napoli will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Sassuolo in Serie A.
